Committees
The SCPAGBA is an organization run by member volunteers. It is groups of our volunteers that provides oversight to the direction of this organization, manages support of our members -both individuals and companies, organizes social and educational events and reaches out to help our communities. AS an organization, we are only as strong and effective as the following committees can be. We welcome all individuals who share our mission and core values.
Branch Management Committee:
This committee currently is responsible for the following:
- Providing overall Branch leadership and oversight
- Adherence to SCPAGBA Branch mission statement
- Coordinating with GBACPA policies, procedures and mission
- Establishing and upholding guidelines regarding Branch operations
- Co-chairing all SCPAGBA committees
- Members of this committee need to be a LEED GA, LEED AP or be in the process of obtaining a LEED GA, LEED AP.

Membership Committee:
This committee currently is responsible for both individual members and corporate sponsors.
Specific responsibilities include:
- Orienting new and potential members on how to belong and get involved.
- Develop and manage the membership database and for maintaining the integrity of the database information.
- Develop a Membership and Sponsorship cost structure.
- Interface with GBACPA's systems for tracking members, payments, renewals, etc.
- Conduct periodic membership surveys and providing summaries and analysis for the various committees to use in addressing members expectations and needs.
- Develop and plan activities and events, both open to the public and for Members Only that strengthen our membership by providing networking opportunities. These events include Meet & Mingle events, Members Only Breakfasts and an annual event currently planned to be our first "Parade of Green".
- Staff a welcome table and Greeters at all events, providing event sign-in, name tag pick-up and collection and membership information.

Finance Committee:
This committee is responsible for:
- Establishing a strategic financial plan and an annual operating budget.
- Developing a long-term sustainable fiscal program.
- Providing financial oversight for the SCPAGBA chapter organization in general.
- Interfacing with GBACPA on membership dues and event payments.
- Providing all tax reporting and any non-profit financial reporting requirements to GBACPA as required.
- Supporting the fiscal needs of the other committees.

Communications/Marketing Committee:
This committee's responsibilities include:
- Increase the awareness of the SCPAGBA and the role it can play as an advocate for green design in the Berks Lancaster counties.
- Provide a consistent approach and layout for routine electronic communications.
- Develop a logo and format for organizational use.
- Design and manage a creative, user-friendly web site as the backbone of this organization.
- Prepare a marketing plan that will identify measurable goals for increasing memberships and sponsorships, including budgetary requirements.
- Publish an annual report on results achieved against goals and targets.
- Develop hard copy marketing materials.

Education Committee:
Responsibilities include:
- Establish, coordinate and facilitate educational programs through out the year that meet a broad range of membership and community needs.
- Publish annual calendar of educational programs
- Provide high quality educational events to meet minimal requirements for credits under AIA/CES and LEED
- AP continuing educational credits.
- Identify and facilitate training and exam preparation classes in support various green programs and initiatives.
- Collect, create, disseminate information that enhances general public knowledge of green design principles and encourages an improved, sustainable built environment.

Annual Event Committee:
This committee reports to the Membership committee.
The Parade of Homes/Seasonal Garden Tour focuses on local structures highlighting their special green features. Each stop will have information to educate participants on the green features.

Advocacy & Outreach Committee:
This committee is vital to reaching out to our communities and extending our ability to promote green design. Responsibilities will include:
- Support green educational efforts in our communities by partnering with local schools and community organizations to increase awareness of green design.
- Create member resources skill bank of people prepared to donate their time to support local High School, Votech and college programs in supporting sustainable efforts.
- Identify potential green stakeholder groups and develop information targeted to promote green design and connects to their particular interests.
- Develop marketing plan promoting sustainable building practices that reach out to elected officials, municipalities, community leaders and local residents.
- Identify logical subcommittees to focus on specific areas of outreach: High Schools, Home Builders, Township Management teams, etc.

Website Committee:
This committee is responsible for:
- The initial design of the website.
- Keeping the information current and relevant to the branch.
- Updating the events and registration pages.
- Communicating with the other committees to post their information in a timely fashion.
- Gathering projects from members to post on the interactive green map.
